In recent weeks, pupils in Reception have been reading fairy tales as well as learning how to write one themselves.
Last week, they also concluded their curriculum topic ‘Once Upon A Time’, so what better way to reinforce their understanding than with an imaginary trip to fairyland where everyone could dress up for the day as a prince, princess or any character they wanted – yes, we see you Darth Vader!

There were so many crowns and tiaras to be seen as pupils came to school dressed in all sorts of outfits – even our teachers dressed up too. Everyone looked fabulous.
Throughout Princes and Princesses day, pupils participated in a range of fairyland activities including ‘walk the plank’, archery, fencing, ballroom dancing and jousting. They also had the opportunity to design their own fairy tale book cover.
There was so much fun and laughter throughout the day, which fittingly ended with a reading of a fairy tale story.
