Year 3

Welcome to Year 3

Year 3 is a crucial milestone in a child’s education. Pupils build upon and consolidate their understanding of the subjects taught in Key Stage 1. Pupils begin to become independent learners taking charge of their own learning. The demands of the curriculum become greater and require a child’s full concentration. All phonics should be in place and pupils should be able to read independently.

In Year 3, we maintain a ‘hands-on approach’ to learning and ensure pupils are immersed in their learning.
