Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

Year 6 is the final year of primary education and the year where all learning comes together. Learning is consolidated and pupils are prepared for secondary school. In order for the pupils to successfully complete the year, the previous year’s learning should be in place.

This year is one that looks to the future and not the past. Pupils must be able to develop their own learning, set individual targets and work independently. During this year, the pupils take formal SATs exams, which prepare them for their secondary school selection.

This page is continually reviewed and will be updated with information relevant to Year 6 that will keep you up-to-date and help you support your child with their learning. We hope both parents and pupils will find this useful, and that it will develop into a valuable resource.
