On Thursday 11th January, GBA welcomed actors and producers from the Alnowair group into school to perform a short play about the negative effects of bullying. Alnowair is a non-profit organisation that aims to spread positivity and happiness throughout Kuwait and the Middle East region. Its team is currently visiting as many schools as it can to spread the word of positivity and anti-bullying.
What goes around comes around
Bullying is often a problem in schools, therefore it is important for us to ensure everything possible is being done to prevent it (read our Anti-Bullying Policy). The production showed pupils the consequences of their actions when bullying someone and used the phrase “what goes around comes around“. Every negative or bad action has consequences that will eventually come back to you. On the reverse, positive actions have the same effect – if you are kind to others, kindness will find you.
The show was a hit with pupils and staff, and at points was so profound that many staff members had tears in their eyes. It was a real eye-opener and will have a positive and memorable impact on all who watched it. We are also incredibly proud of three GBA pupils who took part in the production: Hazza (4 Yellow), Ali (5 red) and Mohammad (6 Blue). They showed courage and passion in order to help their peers understand an often scary and worrying topic.
We look forward to inviting Alnowair back for more productions in the future and working with it to spread positivity.
